Today my youngest son played his first football game of the season. It did not go well. The kids played hard, and despite the other team taking low blows on our players and the refs were favoring the other team, the score was 12-0 when it was stopped with 3 minutes left in the 4th and the cops had to get on the field. LOL
While driving to the game, the. car reminded me I was low on fuel, however when we got in the car to leave the game, it did not.. or maybe it did, and I just didn’t catch the extra dings… and we ran out of gas. and 3 hours later we get home. I feel AI could have helped better but will take the blame.
I wanted to find our exact location on a map to look at the surroundings… Google on my phone showed the next gas station 3.5 miles away. It actually was 7. I ran out of gas at mile marker 126. The next exit… was mile marker 133. So how did Google get that wrong? Strike 1.
Google does not show mile markers on Google Maps. Can you believe that? Using Google Maps, I can zoom in on volcanos, pyramids, and peoples backyards in America, but can’t see the mile markers on the freeway outside my house… sigh. Strike 2.
So then a popup asks me why I was using Google Maps with a few options. I selected ‘Other’, and I told it I was looking for Mile Markers. It asked if Google Maps was helpful? I selected ‘No’. It asked how can Google Maps make it better? So clearly, It does not understand what I just said about adding Mile Markers. Strike 3.
So I open Google and search for Florida Turnpike Mile Marker 126. It shows a picture and there isn’t much really, but I click on the Maps link, and it shows me the United States. Strike 4.
In the left Window there is a link, “For further results, try Google Search”. I click it… and it took me back to Strike 4. Which now is Strike 5.
